Ares Kingdom is an American thrash and death metal band that was formed in 1996 in Kansas City , Missouri . The band is named after the Greek god Ares .
history
The band was formed towards the end of 1996 from the breakup of the band Order from Chaos , where guitarist Chuck Keller and drummer Mike Miller were active. Their first demo was recorded and released in early 1997. After the release, Keller and Miller looked around for more band members. Guitarist Doug Overbay and singer and bassist Alex Blume joined the band in 2001. After rehearsing a few pieces, the band held their first live performances in the following years. Meanwhile, the band was working on their debut album, and finished work on it in December 2005. In January 2006 the EP Firestorm Redemption was first released via Nuclear War Now! Productions before the debut album Return to Dust was released in May.
In September 2007, Nuclear War Now Productions! the next EP called Failsafe . In May 2008 the next album followed with Firestorms and Chaos . In June 2008 she performed in California with Angel Corpse , Gospel of the Horns , Cemetery Urn and Sanguis Imperum . In February 2009 the band began recording the new album. In October the band performed in Calgary , Canada at the Noctis III Fest . Another gig outside of the US followed a month later on the NWN! Festival in Berlin . The rest of the year the band spent recording their next album called Incendiary . The album was released on January 16, 2010.
In January 2010, the band opened two gigs for the reunited Order in Kansas City and Los Angeles . This was followed by appearances in St. Louis on March 26th and Chicago on March 27th with Order From Chaos. This was followed by an appearance at the Destroying Texas Fest in Houston . The band also played in Minneapolis and Baltimore at the Defenders of the Old Fest on October 16 with Blood Feast , Tyrant , October 31 , Extermination Angel and Sentinel Beast . On November 20th the band performed again in Berlin at the NWN! Festival, together with Order from Chaos, Blasphemy , Mystifier , Xibalba , Black Witchery , Proclamation , Blasphemophagher , Bone Awl and Faustcoven .
