Arizona Chemical is an American chemical company that produces pine chemicals, i.e. products derived from the sulphate process in pulp production such as tall oil , turpentine oil , rosin , terpenes and polyamide resins .

history

Arizona Chemical was founded in 1930 as a joint venture between International Paper and American Cyanamid . In 1984, International Paper gained sole control of the company and made several strategic acquisitions in Scandinavia in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 2007 the company was sold to the grasshopper Rhône Capital and two years later to American Securities .

In 2009 the German company Abieta Chemie was taken over.

In early 2016, Kraton Polymers acquired Arizona Chemical for $ 1.37 billion.
