Arne Isacsson

Arne Isacsson (born March 21, 1917 in Ronneby ; † September 25, 2010 ) was a Swedish art teacher and painter who was best known for his watercolors .

biography

Isacsson, who was Otte Sköld's student from 1944 to 1946 , researched in his own work the properties of depigmentation caused by large amounts of water.

As a professor of watercolor technique, he was also the founder of the School of Fine Arts in Gerlesborg, which later also set up a branch in Stockholm and gave courses in southern France .

King Gustav VI drew him for his artistic merits . Adolf with the Medal of the Royal Swedish Life Guard. He was also awarded the Illis Quorum , the highest civilian honor for a single person, by the Swedish government in 1999 . In 2004 the Philosophical Faculty of Umeå University awarded him an honorary doctorate . He was married to the painter Margareta Blomberg .

His works can be found in the Swedish National Museum , Gripsholm Castle and many other Swedish and European museums.
