Arno Stabbert (born December 31, 1956 in Cuxhaven ) is a CDU politician and was Lord Mayor of the city of Cuxhaven from 2005 to 2011 .

Life

Arno Stabbert graduated from high school in 1976 at the Amandus-Abendroth-Gymnasium in Cuxhaven. He then joined the Lower Saxony police and received his basic training from 1976 at the Lower Saxony State Police School in Hann. Münden . Later, as part of his police training, he attended the Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Hildesheim and universities of applied sciences in Stade and Cuxhaven. After graduating with a degree in administrative management (FH) in 1981, he worked in the senior service of the criminal police . Other uses were from 1981 to 1986 as a guard group leader in Verden (Aller) , then from 1986 to 1990 as a group leader of a mobile task force at the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office in Hanover and then from 1990 to 1994 as a head of department in Bramsche .

After Stabbert graduated from the Police Leadership Academy in 1994, he was employed in the higher service of the criminal police. Between 1994 and 2002 he was head of the criminal police in Cuxhaven. From 2002 to 2004, Stabbert was a consultant in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport . In 2004 and 2005 he was the head of the authorities and police chief of the Central Police Directorate in Hanover.

On May 22, 2005, Arno Stabbert was elected full-time mayor of Cuxhaven with a result of 50.5 percent in the first ballot. He held the office from June 2005 until the local elections in September 2011.

Stabbert is married and has two children. He lives in Cuxhaven.
