Arriva Eldorado (original title: Scansati… a Trinità arriva Eldorado ) is a low-cost spaghetti western that, according to the opening credits, Diego Spataro staged in 1972 under a pseudonym . The highly comedic production was premiered on November 12, 1972 in Italy and was premiered in German-speaking countries on February 27, 1986 on private television , later marketed on video cassette as a poker face on crooked tours .

action

Jonathan Duke earns his living by fooling around and selling an alleged elixir of life. Seb Carter supports him as his barker. When they are exposed by a stubborn old man, they ride to Trinità. There, Eldorado has amassed a small fortune by tyrannizing the people and letting themselves be portrayed as infallible. In addition, he has a whole bunch of accomplices who enforce his interests by force.

Duke plans to rob Eldorado with the help of Ringo Jones and one of the victims, Juanita. With a sophisticated plan that allows him to appear as a magician assisted by Juanita, he manages to get hold of a large sum. When they have cleared the angry Eldorado and its people out of the way, Duke, Juanita, Ringo and Carter open a large gaming room where they can cheat to their hearts' content.

criticism

The lexicon of international films saw a “trivial spaghetti western with slightly parodic elements, staged by an inexperienced director”. Christian Keßler found that the film lived from funny scenes, the actors in particular would charge, but that fits with the basic mood of the film and sums it up: "Thanks to the synchro, very nice fun westerners."

Remarks

The film song Jesahel interprets the group Delirium .

Co-producer Spataro is the director, but the film is actually largely staged by cameraman Aristide Massaccesi, who also appears as a performer. According to Spataro, the shooting time was four and a half days. Demofilo Fidani's wife Maria Rosa Valenza was responsible for the set and costumes.
