Arroganz is a German metal band from Cottbus . The music style is a mixture of death and black metal .

history

Arroganz was founded at the beginning of 2008 by -K- and -M- in Cottbus . The two musicians had known each other since their youth and had previously played together in a band and in various other projects. A few months after it was founded, -L- joined the band as a drummer. Arroganz was already well known locally in 2008/2009 through its first appearances at underground concerts and small festivals.

After a change of drummer in the summer of 2009, the band recorded the three-song demo Burning Souls on their own with -T- as a new band member . After the band got a record deal with the newly founded Cottbus label Blacksmith Records in February 2010 , the demo was officially released as an EP in April 2010. The Ep received high scores and good reviews in numerous reviews. Rock-hard author Frank Albrecht commented on the ep with the words “A successful synthesis of black metal and death metal. Respectable! "

Due to the positive feedback on the release, the contract with Blacksmith Records was extended for further albums. In the summer of 2010 the band performed at the Gahlen moscht Open Air and the Wolfszeit Festival , and was able to complete the recordings for their debut album in eight days in the week before the Wolfszeit Festival. In the second half of 2010 Arroganz accompanied Varg on their Blutaar over Europe tour and Dark Funeral on the A Declaration of Hate Tour . Arroganz's first full-length album was released in April 2011 under the title Dark and Deathless via Blacksmith Records. The album was promoted in May 2011 as part of the Death Infernal Tour of the Swedish death metal band Demonical . The band also performed at the In Flammen Open Air and the Sick Midsummer Open Air, among others .

In 2012 Arrogance played at the Darkmoon Festival as well as the Rock for Roots . At the end of July, the band went to Blacksmith Records Studio to record their second studio album, which was completed on August 16, 2012. In November 2012, the band shot their first music video for the song Blood Ceremony . A little later, at the end of November, the production of kaos.kult.kreation was completed with the mastering . Ola Lindgren, known from the Swedish death metal band Grave, took over this step .

On March 13, 2013, the band kaos.kult.kreation released their second studio album via Blacksmith Records . The release concert for this took place on March 16 in the La Casa Bar in Cottbus and also represented the last appearance of the founding member -M-, who left the band for personal reasons. A replacement has already been found. Even before it was released, the album received very good reviews in numerous national and international trade magazines and webzines. In the German rock-hard magazine, the album was named the "bonus bomb" of the March 2013 issue, rated 8 out of 10 points and the review written by Frank Albrecht with the words “No question about it: ARROGANZ are about to jump into the top division ." closed. On April 16, 2013 the band introduced -P-, the successor to guitarist -M-.

style

Arrogance combines death with black metal in their music, but due to the nagging vocals the music tends more towards black metal. The compositions are sometimes demanding and technical. Sporadic melodies as well as elements of Doom and Thrash Metal are also incorporated. The music of Arroganz is compared with Satyricon , Celtic Frost , Ketzer and Naglfar as well as Desaster Krisiun , Morbid Angel , Pestilence , Asphyx , Totenmond , Pungent Stench , Necros Christos , and Demonical, among others .
