Sir Arthur C. Clarke, 2005

The Arthur C. Clarke Award is a literary award established and sponsored by Arthur C. Clarke in 1987 with the aim of promoting science fiction in the UK . It is awarded annually to the best science fiction novel published in Great Britain for the first time in the previous year and is considered the most prestigious British SF literary prize.

The list of eligible works will be reduced to six finalists in advance. The winner will be determined by a jury from among these finalists. The jury, which changes annually, is made up of fans, critics and recognized authors. The year in which the award was given corresponds to the year in which the prize was awarded.

Arthur C. Clarke originally offered a prize of £ 1,000 . Since 2001, the year has been paid out in British pounds.
