Arthur Dobat (born April 6, 1939 ) is a former German football player . For Karlsruher SC , the attacking player played 72 games and scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga from 1965 to 1968.

Career

Oberliga and Regionalliga Nord, until 1965

Arthur Dobat's football development took place at ETSV Kirchweyhe in the Diepholz district. In the 1960/61 season, the offensive player celebrated the championship in the amateur league with Bremer SV . In the promotion round to the Football Oberliga Nord , a 4-1 win against SV Arminia Hannover with the same number of points brought the blue-whites up from the Panzenberg stadium. Dobat made his debut in the 1961/62 season on the starting day of the round, on August 6, 1961, with a 0: 4 home defeat, on half-left in the then mostly practiced World Cup system , against FC St. Pauli with the BSV in the league. Under coach Erich Hänel , the strong-running technician with a goal risk completed all 30 rounds and scored six goals. At the end of the season, Dobat was on a relegation zone with the Bremen team. He moved to the last round of the old first-class Oberliga era, 1962/63, to VfB Oldenburg . The newcomer from BSV made his debut at VfB on the first round match day, August 19, 1962, with two goals against the guests from Holstein Kiel . The “storks” won the game with 4-2 goals. Under coach Kurt Koch and alongside teammates Burghart Rylewicz , Klaus Forbrig and Helmut Mrosla, he played all 30 league games of the Oldenburg team, who ended up in twelfth place, and scored twelve goals.

After the Bundesliga was founded in 1963, the Oldenburg team played in the North Regional Football League . Again, Dobat showed his goal danger in the opening game. In the 3-2 home win on August 11, 1963 against guest VfB Lübeck, he scored all three goals. At the end of the round, VfB was in seventh place in the table. The second regional league year was worse for his team, they had to be content with 13th place. But Dobat personally experienced two “awards”: On October 27, 1964, he represented the colors of Northern Germany in the representative game in Aalborg against Jutland. To the 4-2 success of the NFV selection, he contributed three goals alongside his teammates Horst Schnoor (goal), Sepp Piontek , Peter Kaack and Winfried Mittrowski from the Bundesliga. On the occasion of its 60th birthday, the North German Football Association held the delightful game “Bundesliga North” against “Regionalliga North” in April 1965 in Hamburg am Rothenbaum. Klaus-Peter Kirchrath looked after the team in the Regionalliga. The internal storm of the regional league selection with Gerd Saborowski , Gerd Koll and Dobat made an excellent impression with the surprising 3: 1 success of the RL selection. In the sport magazine it is noted about the game “that the spectators experienced a great game, an excellent football match with wonderful moves, thrilling goal scenes and brilliant goals; the contract players from the regional league clubs deservedly won 3-1. ”In the Regionalliga Nord, Dobat played a total of 65 games and scored 37 goals for the Oldenburg team.

Bundesliga and Regionalliga Süd, until 1969

In 1965 he moved to the Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC . On the first day of the 1965/66 series, the newcomer from Oldenburg made his debut in the Bundesliga in the 0-2 away defeat at Tasmania Berlin . Under the coaches Helmut Schneider (until October 18, 1965) and Werner Roth , the team from the Wildpark Stadium was able to keep the class with 24:44 points. Dobat had scored seven goals in 27 games and, like the other two newcomers Helmut Kafka and Walter Rauh, met expectations. The totally negative away balance of 2:32 points had prevented a better performance. In his second year in Karlsruhe, 1966/67, the French "football professor" Paul Frantz replaced Werner Roth on November 2, 1966 and led the KSC to a respectable 13th place in the table with 31:37 points. Dobat was part of the KSC offensive with 25 games and six goals alongside Willi Dürrschnabel , Klaus Zaczyk , Horst Wild , Hans Cieslarczyk , Dragoslav Šekularac and Christian Müller , which scored 54 goals and thus in connection with the quality of the defensive players Siegfried Kessler (TH) , Eugen Ehmann , Jupp Marx , Jürgen Weidlandt and Helmut Kafka to victories against VfB Stuttgart (4: 1), MSV Duisburg (1: 0/3: 0), FC Schalke 04 (1: 0/3: 1), Fortuna Düsseldorf (3: 2), Werder Bremen (3: 0), 1860 Munich (3: 1) and Eintracht Braunschweig (3: 0). After this good round, Dobat experienced a frustrating relegation in 1967/68 with 17:51 points. With 3:31 points in the away games - Dobat played 20 games and scored three goals - Baden's path led to the Regionalliga Süd. Dobat played his last Bundesliga game on May 25, 1968 in a 1-1 away draw against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. In the championship success of KSC in 1968/69 in the regional soccer league south , the man from northern Germany was only used in seven games. He played his last regional league game on March 23, 1969 in the 1: 2 defeat at the Stuttgarter Kickers . In the unsuccessful promotion round in 1969, he was no longer used. At the end of the 1969/70 season, Dobat left Karlsruhe. Dobat came to 72 Bundesliga appearances with 16 goals and 7 regional league appearances for KSC. He was also used for the Karlsruhe five times in the DFB Cup .

He then played for FC Rastatt 04 . With the yellow-blacks from the Münchfeldstadion he was in 1971/72 champion in the 1st amateur league South Baden, but failed with his teammates in the promotion round to the Regionalliga Süd. For the representation of South Baden, he was also on October 9 and November 20, 1971 in the two games against Hamburg in the competition of the regional cup in action.
