Arthur Longo (born July 21, 1988 in La Tronche ) is a French snowboarder . He mainly starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

Longo drove his first FIS World Cup race on Kreischberg in January 2004 , which he finished in 32nd place on the halfpipe. Since 2006 he has also been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions. In January 2007 he won his first victory at the O'Neill Pro Freestyle in Avoriaz on the quarter pipe . In February 2008 he won Big Air at the MC Invitational in Barages . In the 2008/09 season he won in slopestyle at the Crans-Montana Champs Open in Crans-Montana and on the quarter pipe at The Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo . In the following season he took his first and so far only FIS World Cup victory on the halfpipe in Calgary . In his first Olympic participation in 2010 in Vancouver , he finished 19th in the halfpipe competition. At the 2011 Snowboard World Championships in La Molina , he came 23rd on the halfpipe. At the penultimate World Cup race of the 2010/11 season he came in third place in Bardonecchia and thus reached third place in the FIS Halfpipe World Cup. At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo he finished 12th on the halfpipe. The following year he finished 23rd on the halfpipe at the 2013 Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham . In March 2013 he won the silver medal in the halfpipe competition at the Winter X Games Europe 2013 in Tignes . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he came in 17th place. That season he finished fourth on the halfpipe at the Burton European Open in Laax and second at the Burton US Open in Vail . At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg, he took 32nd place.

Longo became French champion on the halfpipe in 2013.
