Career
Artjom Ternawski began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of HK CSKA Moscow . From there he moved to the 2000/01 season to the Castors de Sherbrooke from the Canadian Junior League QMJHL . Then the defender was selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the fifth round as a total of 160 players by the Washington Capitals , for which he never played. Instead, he returned to his Russian homeland and spent the 2001/02 season in the professional team of Mostowik Kurgan , for whom he played in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. In the following two years, the U18 junior world champion from 2001 was able to prevail in the super league and played in this for HK Sibir Novosibirsk , HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Salawat Julajew Ufa .
The 2004/05 season began Ternawski with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Vysschaya League and finished it with his league rivals Motor Barnaul . In the following season he stood for Kasachmys Karaganda in parallel in the Wysschaja Liga, as well as the Kazakh ice hockey championship on the ice. The 2006/07 season spent the Russian almost exclusively at Gasowik Tyumen in the Vysschaya League, but ended it in Kazakhstan at Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . For the Kazakhs he scored three goals in 14 games and gave two more assists. The left shooter then returned to Russia and received a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk from the Super League for the 2007/08 season . For Novokuznetsk, he scored six goals in 56 games and prepared seven.
For the 2008/09 season Ternawski was committed by HK CSKA Moscow from the newly formed Continental Hockey League , in whose youth department he had started his career. For CSKA he scored four goals and three assists in a total of 61 games. For the following season he returned to Metallurg Novokuznetsk. He left his ex-club after only 14 games and moved within the KHL to the Belarusian club HK Dinamo Minsk . There he was also unable to assert himself in the long term and only played two KHL games for Dinamo between December 2009 and January 2010. Later in the season, the former junior international moved to Vitjas Chekhov . For Vitjas he completed 52 KHL games until 2011, before he was signed by HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in June 2011 . There he could not prevail, however, and only played one game before moving to Atlant Mytishchi within the KHL in October 2011 .
In November 2012 Ternawski was signed by the Hannover Scorpions .
