The Ascherhütte is at 2256 m height in the Samnaungruppe surrounded by Blankakopf and Rotpleiskopf. It is in the possession of the section Oberpfaffenhofen - Asch of the DAV and is open from early July to mid-September.
history
The Ascher hut was built in 1896 by the Asch section of the former German-Austrian Alpine Club. It was a small one-room hut with storage rooms separated by a curtain. Back then, the hut was not only open in summer, it was also open to tourers in spring from Easter.
On the occasion of the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans from their homeland after the Second World War , the members of the Asch section were distributed all over Germany. As early as 1952, 14 members revived the section in Selb . The Section quickly won back many of the old members. In order to be able to take better care of the Ascher Hütte, the section headquarters were relocated to Munich .
Renovation plans for the hut were started in 1957. The ridge alignment was changed, but part of the old hut was integrated into the new building. With an expansion in 1975, the hut got its current size. The centenary of the hut was celebrated on July 6, 1996.
