Ashley Bock (born August 20, 1987 ) is a South African ice hockey goalkeeper who has played for the Johannesburg Wildcats in the Gauteng Province Ice Hockey League since 2013 .

Career

Ashley Bock began his career with the Johannesburg Scorpions, for which he was in goal for the first time in the 2003 season in the Gauteng Province Ice Hockey League , one of the regional ice hockey leagues in South Africa, whose champions play the South African national champions at the end of the season. After he was under contract with the local Warriors in the capital Pretoria from 2010 to 2012 , he returned to Johannesburg in 2013 , where he is now guarding the box of the Wildcats.

International

In the junior area, Bock was in goal at the U18 World Championships in Division II 2003 and 2005 and Division III 2004 . He also played at the 2005 U20 World Cup in Division III for South Africa. For the men's selection he played at the World Championships of Division III in 2005 , 2008 and 2011 , when he achieved the third-best catch rate and conceded goal rate behind his compatriot David Berger and the Israeli Avihu Sorotzki . The Springboks achieved promotion to Division II in all three tournaments, for which he was not nominated in the following year. Only later did he play in Division II in 2014 and 2015. After relegation in 2015, he played again in Division III at the World Championships in 2016 and 2018 .
