The 19th Asian Games are scheduled to take place in the east Chinese city ​​of Hangzhou from September 10-25, 2022 . After 1990 and 2010, the People's Republic of China is hosting the Asian Games for the third time.

A total of 53 competition venues, five sports villages and 31 training facilities are required for the Asian Games, 40 of which were already under construction in 2019. In mid-April 2020, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) reported that over 85 percent of the buildings would be completed by the end of 2020.

Participating Nations

For the first time, athletes from Oceania and Australia should also be able to participate, but only in selected sports to qualify for the Summer Olympics in 2024 .

While eSport was still a demonstration sport in Indonesia in 2018, it is now to be officially included in the program.
