Fashion

In his designs, Kutoğlu was always inspired by the wealth of shapes and colors of the Ottomans and combined oriental elements with the clear signature of the fashion of western designers. He mainly uses leather , organza , muslin , velvet , silk and fabrics with a glossy look. Especially through his evening dresses, he could soon count on a number of well-known personalities who made his dresses known. These include not only Austria's Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik , Francesca von Habsburg , Sonja Kirchberger , Catherine Zeta-Jones , Barbara Wussow , Naomi Campbell, but also Hayrünnisa Gül , the wife of Turkish President Abdullah Gül , for the past five years . This regular customer gave the designer a special assignment. He should "modernize" this for the self-confessed headscarf wearer. Gül could be the first “modern” Turkish first lady with an Islamic headgear, in which opponents Güls see a symbol of political Islam.

Currently (2007) Kutoğlu is working on his collection for Fashion Week New York, his main goals are a boutique in New York, his own cosmetics line and Kutoğlu home accessories.
