Campbell's role in the Taylor trial

She stated that in September 1997 she was given several "dirty looking stones" in South Africa. But she could not say whether these had been sent to her by Taylor. Campbell had initially refused to testify in The Hague because she feared for her safety and that of her family. However, the court ordered her to appear under threat of coercion. Campbell's testimony did not coincide with that of Mia Farrow and Campbell's former agent Carol White, who also testified in court. After that, Campbell is said to have known that the gift came from Taylor. Farrow also stated that it was not several rough diamonds, but one large diamond.
