Atsede Baysa (born April 16, 1987 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .

In 2007 she was eleventh at the road running world championships in Udine with a half marathon time of 1:09:15 h and won the silver medal with the Ethiopian team. Shortly afterwards, she won the Istanbul Marathon in 2:29:08 h.

In 2008 she did not get past a fifth place each at the Rome Marathon and the Toronto Waterfront Marathon . In 2009 she made her breakthrough to the top of the world when she won the Paris Marathon in 2:24:42 h and undercut her best time by more than four minutes. In the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Berlin she came in 27th place, and in the Frankfurt Marathon she was seventh.

In 2010 she won the Xiamen Marathon , and at the Paris Half Marathon, she defended her title at the Paris Marathon with a course record of 2:22:04 and came second in the Chicago Marathon . In 2015 she was awarded the victory at the Chicago Marathon, as the original winner Lilija Schobuchowa was convicted of doping.

On November 15, 2015, she won the first edition of the Saitama Marathon with 2:25:44 h.

On April 18, 2016, she won the Boston Marathon after 2:29:16 hours.
