The Augraben is a brook in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and a left tributary of the Luppe . It was originally a tributary of the Zschampert and is sometimes still called that way today. The excavation was no longer connected with the Zschampert before it was straightened.
The name Augraben, which is mostly used today, has been documented since 1940. It rises as a drainage ditch west of the new Zschampert in the Schkeuditz district of Dölzig and flows into the Luppe after about 6.8 kilometers near Dölkau , a district of Leuna .
From Horburg-Maßlau , the Augraben flows close to the surface through the alluvial forest, which is advertised as a nature reserve . It branches out several times near Dölkau and feeds the Dölkau castle pond with its southernmost branch, which then drains directly to the left into the Alte Luppe. The other tributaries join north of the castle pond. The remaining arm then crosses under the lobe near the royal oak with a culvert and joins the lobe on the right at Zöschen .
