August Gottwerth Penzig (born June 8, 1826 in Altenburg , † March 4, 1896 in Menton ) was a German businessman and politician ( National Liberal Party ).

The son of the Prießnitz pastor Johann August Penzig (1792-1826) received a private school education. He then completed a commercial apprenticeship and worked as a merchant in a wholesaler in Meerane . He was a member of the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce .
