August Hofmann (lawyer)

August Hofmann (born March 19, 1865 in Karlsruhe ; † March 14, 1930 there ; Protestant) was a lawyer who had been in the Baden state service since 1895 and was retired in 1930.

August Hofmann was the son of Major General August Hofmann (born September 14, 1824 in Karlsruhe, † September 30, 1901 ibid) and Josepha nee Birnstill. He married Johanna Bertha born Just on August 12, 1899 in Kandel (born January 6, 1877 in Kandel; † May 16, 1962 in Karlsruhe). From this marriage comes the daughter Elisabeth (born May 8, 1902).

Life

After the first state examination in 1889 and the second state examination in 1892, he became secretary in the Ministry of the Interior on March 1, 1895. On June 10, 1896, Hofmann became a clerk at the Bruchsal district office and then from July 15, 1898 at the Offenburg district office . On June 14, 1899, he was promoted to senior bailiff and board member at the Neustadt district office and on July 17, 1902, he received the same position at the Ettenheim district office . On March 6, 1903 he became a member of the council at the administrative court in Karlsruhe. From 1906 Hofmann was appointed chief magistrate and board member at the Bretten district office , where he was appointed a secret councilor on December 21, 1912 . In 1924 he was appointed head of the office or, after the renaming, in 1926 district administrator at the Bruchsal district office and in 1930 he retired.
