August Lenk from Wolfsberg
August Lothar Lenk von Wolfsberg (born October 1, 1821 in Pressburg , † January 31, 1889 in Vienna ) was an Austrian ministerial advisor and diplomat ( consul general ).
biography
August was the son of Baron Jakob Lenk von Wolfsberg's second marriage .
After completing his legal studies, his diplomatic career began in 1848 as the Imperial and Royal Consulate General Chancellor in Galați , in the same office transferred to Beirut on March 6, 1850 , where he worked until March 27, 1851. The other stages of his diplomatic career were:
- Imperial and Royal Vice Consul in Widin since March 28, 1851, during this term of office decorated with the Royal Prussian Order of the Red Eagle 4th class ,
- kk consul in Trebizond , from February 6, 1859 to September 12, 1860,
- kk consul in Istanbul , then promoted to
- kk consul general in Saloniki 1860,
- kk Consul General in Jerusalem from January 1, 1861 to 1864, received imperial approval on December 24, 1862 to wear the Persian Order of the Sun and Lions with the rank of officer and on April 4, 1864 to wear the commander's cross of the papal St. New Year's Eve Order , with which he had recently been honored.

- kuk consul general in Corfu from 1868,
- kuk Consul General in Barcelona since April 18, 1870, there awarded the Commander's Cross of the Royal Spanish Order, Order of Charles III. (Imperial approval of January 22, 1873). Previously, on March 29, 1870, he had already been decorated tax-free with the Order of the Iron Crown, 3rd class. At Wolfsberg's request, Emperor Franz Joseph I retired him on July 17, 1884, and on this occasion and in recognition of his many years of loyal and fruitful service, awarded him the Commander's Cross of the Imperial Austrian Order of Franz Joseph with the star . Before that he was allowed to wear the Commander's Cross with the star of the Royal Spanish Order of Isabellas the Catholic and the Commander's Cross of the Royal Serbian Takovo Order (February 1, 1873) . After his retirement, Wolfsberg was awarded the Officer's Cross of the French Legion of Honor, with permission to wear in Austria on March 30, 1885.
The diplomat died of old age in his Viennese apartment at Am Opernring No. 6 .

August, half-brother of the kuk Feldzeugmeister Wilhelm Lenk von Wolfsberg , was in her first marriage to Maria Thavonat von Taron, baroness on Sachsengang (born November 27, 1838 in Sachsengang, † in an assassination attempt on June 17, 1864 in Jerusalem) The following year was destroyed by Muslims, married second to Franziska Antonia Freiin Nell von Nellenburg and Damenacker (born January 28, 1836 in Brno , † June 13, 1883 in Nyon) in Rome on May 8, 1866. His second wife gave birth to three daughters Karolina, Eveline and Giselle.
