August Stürzenacker

August Stürzenacker (born March 12, 1871 in Schwetzingen ; † 1951 ) was a German architect and construction clerk .

Life

Stürzenacker studied architecture at the Technical University of Karlsruhe . The course was followed by a traineeship in the Grand Ducal Baden Building Directorate under the direction of Senior Building Director Josef Durm . In 1895 he passed the second state examination and initially worked as a construction intern or assessor in the state building administration. In 1898 he temporarily moved to the municipal building administration of the city of Karlsruhe as a building construction inspector . From 1903 he taught as a professor at the building trade school in Karlsruhe . In 1908 he was in the rank of Commissioner of City Planning for civil engineering lecturers appointed in the Baden Ministry of the Interior. This was followed by promotions to the senior building officer , lecturer council and ministerial councilor . His work was recognized beyond the borders of the Baden state, so in 1925 he was also appointed a member of the Prussian Academy of Building . In 1936 he retired. Several years later, his professional services were recognized, in 1950 the Technical University of Karlsruhe awarded him an honorary doctorate (Dr.-Ing. E. h.).
