Pilgrimage Church of the Holy Trinity

Dreifaltigkeitsberg is a hamlet in the Rimbach district in the municipality of Moosthenning , a rural municipality in the district of Dingolfing-Landau in Lower Bavaria .

geography

The name Dreifaltigkeitsberg refers to the location of the village on a 473 meter high elevation in the wooded Danube-Isar hill country between Isar and Aiterach valleys , which was historically an important landmark on the old road from Straubing to Landshut (today State Road 2141 ).

The Dreifaltigkeitsberg, more precisely the center of the church tower, was one of the original main triangular network points of the national survey of 1801 with the designation Dreifaltigkeit . Only in 1937 was a 485 meter high replacement point named Mühlhausen, Vogelsang about 2.1 kilometers northwest of the church tower chosen.

history

450 meters northwest of the town center (church) is a burial mound from the Bronze Age .

In the High Middle Ages , viticulture is mentioned on the Dreifaltigkeitsberg, which belonged to the Rohr monastery from 1143 to 1146 and was transferred to St. Paul in Regensburg in 1320/32 : in monte vineam unam and in planicie montis vineam unam.

According to the statistical compilation of Joseph von Hazzi about the Duchy of Baiern from 1808, the village of Heil. Drealtigkeits-Berg with 4 houses and just as many hearths belonged to the Rimbach administration . The place is described as follows:

This includes the tavern, the Klauſe, a wax and a gingerbread grocer and an empty house belonging to Hofmark Herrmannsdorf Court Rottenburg. Including a pilgrimage church. "

On the cut-off date of the last census on May 25, 1987, 8 residents in three buildings with living space and just as many apartments were found in the hamlet. The hamlet is located east of State Road 2141 directly on the border with the municipality of Weng ( Landshut district ). Another residential building (farm, formerly two courtyards) already belongs to the latter municipality and forms the wasteland Dreifaltigkeitsberg (Weng) , which is, however, much younger. Six residents were found here on the occasion of the 1987 census. For the entire town, which extends over two communities in two districts, that would result in 14 inhabitants in five buildings with living space.
