Auguste Declercq

Auguste Declercq CICM (born April 30, 1870 in Avekapelle (municipality of Veurne ), Belgium , † November 28, 1939 ) was a Belgian Roman Catholic religious and apostolic vicar of Ober-Kasaï .

Life

Auguste Declercq joined the religious order of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at and received on 16 July 1893 sacrament of Holy Orders .

On August 24, 1918, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . the titular bishop of Thignica and Apostolic Vicar of Upper Kasai. The Archbishop of Mechelen , Désiré-Joseph Cardinal Mercier , donated him episcopal ordination on January 12, 1919 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Namur , Thomas Louis Heylen OPraem , and the auxiliary bishop in Ghent , Eugène Victor Marie Van Rechem .

Auguste Declercq resigned on October 29, 1938 as Vicar Apostolic of Ober-Kasaï.
