Auhausen (Münchsmünster)

The hamlet of Auhausen is part of the Münchsmünster community in the Pfaffenhofen district in Upper Bavaria .

location

The place lies between the communities Münchsmünster and Pförring , in the wide plains of the Danube valley in a meadow landscape directly on the right side of the river Ilm . The Danube flows in a north-westerly direction past the place at a distance of one kilometer. Regensburg is about 55 kilometers to the east and Ingolstadt 25 kilometers to the west. Munich is about 90 kilometers south of the town.

history

Auhausen can look back on almost a thousand years of history. Places with the name “hausen” are likely to have originated in the 8th century. The first documentary mention was made in 1110 as "Hartwig" and his brother "Ruotker" transferred half a field near Auhausen. In older documents, Auhausen is also referred to as “in insula Ouhusum”, which illustrates the former exposed location of the place within the river plains of the Ilm and Danube.
