The Aure is a river in France that runs in the Calvados department in the Normandy region . It rises east of Caumont-l'Éventé , initially drains the Bessin landscape in a northerly direction, then turns to the west and, after 82 kilometers, flows into the Vire as a right tributary about one kilometer below Isigny-sur-Mer . The estuary is canalized, so ships can go up to the port of Isigny-sur-Mer. The lower reaches lie in the Regional Nature Park Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin .
