The basic chromosome number is x = 6; were chromosome numbers 2n = 12, 24, 48 or 60 determined.

ecology

The perennial sandbell is a hemicryptophyte .

Occurrence

The perennial sand bell is widespread from the Atlantic to the sub-Mediterranean. In Europe it grows in the continental gradient, preferably near the coast. Its distribution area includes south-western and central Europe (Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium and Germany).

It mainly settles in dwarf shrub heaths and grass lawns (Violion caninae Schwick. 1944). As a pioneer plant , it colonizes particularly gaps on embankments or roadsides. It thrives best on low-nitrogen, low-base, moderately acidic to acidic, low-calcium soils .

Systematics

The first publication of Jasione laevis was in 1779 by Jean Baptiste de Monnet de Lamarck . Synonyms for Jasione laevis Lam. are: Jasione montana var. perennis L. f. , Jasione perennis (L. f.) Lam. , Jasione pygmaea (Gren. & Godr.) Timb.-Lagr. , Ovilla perennis (L. f.) Bubani , Jasione pyrenaica Sennen , Jasione bialis Sennen , Jasione tajae Sennen , Jasione laevis var. From Jasione laevis There are two subspecies:

  • Jasione laevis subsp. carpetana (Boiss. & Reut.) Rivas Mart. : It occurs in Spain.

use

In the German trade the variety Jasione laevis ('blue light') is mostly offered for use in rock gardens under the name "blue-headed" .
