Austin Kirk Collie (born November 11, 1985 in Hamilton , Ontario , Canada ) is a retired American football player in the position of wide receiver . He played for the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL) and was most recently under contract with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

college

Collie started college at Brigham Young University (BYU) in 2004 and was also MWC Freshman of the Year that same year . In 2007 he was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Las Vegas Bowl .

NFL

Collie was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in 2009 . Due to the injury of Anthony Gonzalez, he moved up as 3rd wide receiver in the team. After the 2012 season, Collie moved to the San Francisco 49ers , but did not make it into the squad for the regular season and signed a contract with the New England Patriots in the 2013 season . He was released after the season.

CFL

In 2015 he signed with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League . After the season announced that it would step down from professional football and engage in concussion research.
