The women's singles at the 1946 Australian Championships was a tennis competition in Adelaide .

The defending champion was Nancye Bolton , who again reached the final and prevailed against Joyce Fitch 6-4 and 6-4. For Bolton it was the third title at the Australian Championships after 1937 and 1940 .
