The women's singles at the 1928 Australian Championships was a tennis competition in Sydney .

Last year's winner was Esna Boyd . In the final, as in 1925 and 1926 , Daphne Akhurst and Esna Boyd faced each other, which Akhurst won 7: 5 and 6: 2. For them it was the third title at the Australian Championships.
