The Auze is a river in France that runs in the Cantal department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park , on the northern slope of the Puy de l'Agneau , on the municipal boundary between Anglards-de-Salers and Saint-Bonnet-de-Salers . The Auze generally drains west to northwest over the basalt plateau of Salins , leaves it with the 30 meter high Cascade de Salins waterfall and flows after 44 kilometers at the southwestern municipal boundary of Chalvignac in the storage area of ​​the Barrage du Chastang as a left tributary into the Dordogne .
