Awutu / Effutu / Senya District is one of 13 districts in the Central Region of Ghana . It borders the Gomoa and Agona districts in the Central Region. It also borders the Greater Accra Region with the Ga West district . In the north, the district borders the Eastern Region with the West Akim district . Chief Executive of the district with the capital Winneba and 169,974 inhabitants is Solomon KA Quaye .

The Awutu / Effutu / Senya District was only formed in 1988 from the former Gomoa-Awutu-Effutu District . The Gomoa District also emerged from this former district .

Constituencies

Two constituencies have been set up in the Awutu / Effutu / Senya district. In the constituency of Awutu / Senya, Oppey Abbey won a seat in the Ghanaian parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2004 general election. Samuel Owusu-Agyei from the party (NPP) succeeded in this in the constituency of Effutu .
