Axel Lapp

Axel Lapp (* 1966 in Konstanz ) is director of the MEWO art gallery as well as the Strigel and Antoniter museums in Memmingen . From 2005 to 2013 he was the publisher of the Berlin art book publisher The Green Box .

biography

Axel Lapp studied art history and museum studies in Marburg , Essex and Manchester . He was a Henry Moore Research Fellow at the University of Leeds (1998-2000) and Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Sunderland (2009-2010). He also worked as an art critic , mainly for English-language titles such as Art Review and Art Monthly , and as an exhibition curator .

For the art book publisher The Green Box , which he founded together with Anja Lutz in 2005 , Lapp published numerous books from its foundation until 2013 and supervised and initiated many more.

Axel Lapp has been director of the MEWO art gallery in Memmingen since 2012. His first exhibition in this capacity was 'KINO und der Kinematografische Blick' in March 2013, with works by Omer Fast , Clemens von Wedemeyer , Ming Wong and many others.

Lapp lives and works in Berlin and Memmingen.
