Axel Rietentiet (born July 14, 1969 in Rostock ) is a former German soccer player and current soccer coach. In the top division of GDR football , the Oberliga , he played for FC Hansa Rostock .
Athletic career
Rietentiet played a total of 28 times for FC Hansa Rostock in the GDR league between 1987 and 1990 . In the 1987/88 season he came on two missions, in the following season on six and in the 1989/90 season on 20 missions. In addition, he played four times in the FDGB Cup .
In the 1989/90 season Rietentiet came to two international missions. In the first round of the 1989/90 UEFA Cup he was in the first and second leg against Baník Ostrava in the starting line-up. In the first leg in Rostock he played over 90 minutes, in the second leg he was substituted after an hour. Hansa was eliminated from the competition after a 2: 3 home and a 0: 4 away defeat. In late autumn 1989 he was on the ball in a game in the second-rate league for BSG Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock due to the double-game permit possible in this game year for the highest and second-highest division of GDR football .
In the 1992/93 season he also played a game in the 2nd Bundesliga for the Hanseatic League. In the 1: 5 away defeat against Hertha BSC , he was on the field until the 74th minute.
He then moved to SV Warnemünde . 2000/01 he played for FC Anker Wismar for one season in the league . After relegation that season, he took over the team as a coach. In the third season in the association league, he led the club back to the major league and secured relegation in the following season. After a total of five years as a player and coach, he left Wismar and returned to Rostock.
He then trained for a year with the SG Warnow Papendorf club. In 2006 Rietentiet was initially assistant coach, and in March 2009, succeeding Thomas Finck as head coach of the second team at FC Hansa Rostock . In November 2013 Rietentiet left FC Hansa Rostock and joined the league club FC Schönberg 95 , where he stayed for four years. In 2015 he led the club to its first promotion to the regional league. For the 2017/18 season he took over the coaching position at the Rostocker FC club . After this season Rietentiet moved again to FC Hansa Rostock and took over as head coach of the second team.
