Aylâ Neusel

Aylâ Neusel (* 1936 in Istanbul ) is a German university researcher and science manager. From 1986 to 1990 she was Vice President of the University of Kassel and has retired since 2001 .

Live and act

Aylâ Neusel studied architecture at the TH Stuttgart from 1955 to 1962 , worked from 1963 to 1970 as a scientific assistant at the chair for statics and supporting structures and there headed the research group Didactics of Structural Science from 1969/1970. In 1979 she became a Dr.-Ing. PhD .

From 1971 to 1976 she was a member of the project group for the establishment of the University of Kassel and from 1973 head of the planning group. In 1986 she became Vice President of the University of Kassel and in 1988 she was re-elected to this position for a second term. In 1988 she was appointed honorary professor for university research.

From 1992 to 1997 she was chairman of commissions for the promotion of women's studies at the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture.

Aylâ Neusel was the organizer and from 1999 to 2003 president of the International Women's University "Technology and Culture" (ifu), which was founded on the occasion of the World Exhibition in Hanover in 2000 as a university reform experiment by women for women. 700 women from 95 countries studied at the ifu and acquired internationally recognized certificates (according to ECTS ).

In 2002 she was commissioned by the international university consortium to set up the Woman's Institute of Technology, Development, and Culture (WIT).

Aylâ Neusel is married to Günter Neusel . They have a daughter and a son.
