The Bârsa ( German Burzen or Burzenbach , Hungarian Barca ) is a river in the Transylvania region in Romania .
It arises on the western edge of the Piatra Craiului Mountains (Königsteingebirge) through the confluence of the source streams Bârsa Groșetului from the Făgăraș Mountains and the Bârsa Tămașului from the Piatra Craiului Mountains, and at Feldioara (Marienburg) the Bârsa flows into the Olt ( Alta ) . The so-called Burzenland ( Țara Bârsei ) was named after her.
