After the reform of 1818, which aimed to simplify the administrative structures, Bärnmühle belonged to the newly formed rural community of the open state of Diendorf. From 1820 Bärnmühle came under the jurisdiction of the state together with Höflarn. In 1828 Bärnmühle belonged with a residential building, a family and three residents to the rural community of Diendorf, to the branch church in Perschen and to the Catholic school in Perschen. All residents were Catholic.

In 1964 Bärnmühle had two residential buildings and 7 residents and belonged to the rural community of Diendorf and the district of Nabburg . On July 1, 1972, the district of Nabburg was dissolved and Bärnmühle became part of the municipality of Diendorf in the newly formed district of Schwandorf. On January 1, 1975, Bärnmühle was incorporated into the city of Nabburg as part of the municipality of Diendorf. On December 31, 1990, Bärnmühle had a resident and belonged to the parish of Nabburg.
