Béatrice Kahl (* 1972 in Hanover ) is a German jazz pianist who also plays keyboards and the Hammond organ.

Live and act

Kahl comes from a family of musicians and already appeared in her father's combo at the age of twelve. She studied cultural education with a major in music at the University of Hildesheim . Then she worked in the cultural office of Celle and then in the press department of the Lower Saxony State Theater . She has been working as a freelance musician since 1999. In 2001 she founded the take2 group with saxophonist Gaby Schenke , which also performs internationally. On the album released in 2009, Kahl and Schenke interpret 99 jazz versions of songs by Neue Deutsche Welle and in 2007 and 2011 also performed with them in French clubs. She also leads a piano trio and plays with Hajo Hoffmann in the duo The Latin Jazz Club . She has worked with the Thilo Wolf Big Band , Thomas Quasthoff , Max Mutzke , Joja Wendt , Charly Antolini , Tony Lakatos , Melva Houston , Nneka, John Davis, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse , Mola Adebisi, Daniel Messina , Nico Suave & DJ Sparc worked together. She arranged for Thilo Wolf's big band, where she also appeared as organist. With her own band b.groovy she plays groovy arranged pop hits in a new look. Since 2011 she has been the pianist of the Munich formation String of Pearls .

She also worked on the musical productions Harry & Sally , Shoes with Wings , Godfather of Soul for the Landesbühne Hannover . In the Lower Saxony State Theater she played gods, cookies and philosophers in the revue . As musical assistant at the Nuremberg State Theater, she studied: Rocky Horror Picture Show , Das Leben der Bohème , Ewig Jung and Raumstation Sehnsucht . At the Stadttheater Fürth she worked as co-editor and orchestral keyboardist in the productions Love Me Gershwin and Bahn-Frei as well as Der Tunnel .
