The formerly independent village of Büchelbach is now a settlement in the Bieber district of the municipality of Biebergemünd in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district .

Büchelbach is 230 m above sea level , 500 m east of the center of Bieber . In the place the Büchelbach flows into the Bieber .
history
The oldest mention of the village dates back to around 1450. It belonged to the Bieber office , initially a condominium between the County of Rieneck and the County of Hanau-Münzenberg , after 1559 between Kurmainz and Hanau-Münzenberg. After an exchange of territories and rights, it belonged completely to Hanau from 1684. 1736 died with Count Johann Reinhard III. the last Count of Hanau and the county of Hanau-Münzenberg fell to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel (from 1803: " Electorate of Hesse "). In 1821 there was a fundamental administrative reform there. The Bieber office - and thus also Büchelbach - was added to the newly formed Gelnhausen district. In 1895 Büchelbach forms a community with Gassen . This was later merged with Bieber and in 1971 merged with the communities of Breitenborn / Lützel , Roßbach and Lanzingen as part of the regional reform in Hesse to form the (large) community of Bieber, which in turn has formed the (new) community of Biebergemünd since 1974 together with Biebergemünd. In the same year, the Gelnhausen district became part of the Main-Kinzig district.
