Bühler Motor , headquartered in Nuremberg, develops and manufactures mechatronic drive solutions . DC motors (brushed and brushless), gear motors and pumps form the core of the mechatronic drive solutions.

history

The company was founded in 1855 as a watch manufacturer by the brothers Adolf and Karl Heinrich Bühler in Triberg in the Black Forest . In 1892 it was bought by Josef Furtwängler (1862–1926), the great-grandfather of today's generation of shareholders, and from then on operated under the name of Gebrüder Bühler Successor Furtwängler .

In 1925 the development and production of the drive technology division was relocated to Nuremberg, where it was run under the name Gebrüder Bühler Nachhaben GmbH . The first Bühler electric motor, the so-called "brass motor", was manufactured in 1955. In 1960 a new branch was built in Monheim in Bavaria.

In 1969, the company manufactured the first automotive applications for Delco Electronics in the USA. In 1974 Buehler Products Inc. opened as a production facility in North Carolina , USA. 1983 followed the establishment of a USA development center and a second production location in North Carolina. In 1994, Bühler Motor sro was founded as a production plant in Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic ; the area of ​​this plant was expanded twice in 1998 and 2001.

The parent company and all subsidiaries were renamed Bühler Motor in 1998 . In the same year "Buehler Motor Ltd." was founded in Hong Kong with a production facility in Huizhou in the People's Republic of China . In 2002 production started in Chihuahua , Mexico ; In 2003 production was relocated from North Carolina , USA to Chihuahua in Mexico. 2006 Buehler Motor Zhuhai Ltd. established in the PRC. In 2009 the North American Tech Center (NATC) was established in Morrisville (North Carolina), USA. For the location in China, Bühler Motor opened a sales office in Shanghai in 2012 . In 2015, a sales representative office was established in Yokohama , Japan . In 2017, the takeover of Dornier Technologie Systems GmbH in Uhldingen-Mühlhofen , as well as Dornier Technologie GmbH & Co. KG and Dornier Technologie Beteiligungs GmbH, renamed Bühler Motor Aviation GmbH in 2018. In 2018, the new sales and technology location opened in Farmington Hills ( Detroit - Michigan ) in the USA.
