The anime takes place in a future in which scientists are trying to breed the "perfect human" ( transhumanism ). They hope that this will help to maintain peace in the universe. Shortly before their goal, they want to subject the “better and new people” to another training session. However, they are kidnapped by an evil association that wants to enforce its own ideas of a new world order, also using violence.

Main storyline

When the serial killer "B" shows up and a mysterious series of serial murders begins in Cremona, investigator Keith Flick returns to the special unit of the royal police, the Royal Investigation Service (RIS). In the case of his gruesome murder, the perpetrator leaves his signature, which consists of the letter "B", on the scene. Together with the young investigator Lily Hoshina, he tries to solve the case. However, RIS is also the target of attacks by the secret grouping of market makers, and the investigators are also in danger. Keith believes this is all related to his past and the murder of his younger sister. In addition, the mysterious boy Koku, who the Hoshinas host at home, seems to have something to do with the criminal cases.
