Bańska Niżna is a village in the Szaflary municipality in the Tatrzański powiat of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland in the Podhale region . The village is located in the Pogórze Gubałowskie mountain range about ten kilometers north of Zakopane and ten kilometers south of Nowy Targ . The Zakopianka road runs through the village .

Attractions

The attribute Niżna means lower , i.e. the lower part of a place. There is a modern Church of Divine Mercy in the village . There are two thermal springs in the village (85 ° C and 82 ° C), which are among the most productive in Poland. Almost the entire place has been heated with geothermal water since 1995. Bańska Niżna was the first place in Poland to draw its energy for heat from geothermal sources. Thermal baths are located on the border with Szaflary, which is adjacent to the north .
