Bad Blood is a Canadian television series developed and produced by Simon Barry . Initially intended as a miniseries, the first season is based on the 2015 book Business or Blood: Mafia Boss Vito Rizzuto's Last War by Antonio Nicaso and Peter Edwards; a dramatization of events related to the Italian-Canadian Rizzuto family , a Montreal- based mafia organization. The second season differs from the book and is fictitious.
action
The first season revolves around the downfall of Vito Rizzuto , the Sicilian leader of a Montreal- based Mafia organization who died in 2013 . Rizzuto managed to unite the criminal underworld of Montreal and thus create a kind of syndicate . During his subsequent incarceration for a 1980s murder case, most of his empire fell apart and many members of his family were wiped out. Released in 2012, Rizzuto begins a vengeance and rises from oblivion, although his empire is ultimately taken over by his right-hand man, Declan Gardiner.
Season two begins five years after Vito Rizzuto's death, and Declan Gardiner rules the Montreal drug trade. Mafiosi from Europe are trying to take over the drug business from Gardiner, while the latter also has to take on a newly formed task force for organized crime.
