Bad Girls is a 1979 song by Donna Summer that was written by her, Joe Esposito , Bruce Sudano, and Edward Hokenson. It appeared on the album of the same name. Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte were responsible for the production .

history

The song was inspired by an assistant to Summer, who was insulted by a police officer because he mistakenly thought she was a prostitute . So Donna Summer wrote the rough version of the song and perfected it with Joe Esposito, Bruce Sudano and Edward Hokenson. Neil Bogart , listened to the song and wanted Cher to sing the song and it will appear on her upcoming Take Me Home . Summer refused and put it away for a couple of years.

Released on June 23, 1979, the disco number became a number one hit in the United States and Canada . At the 1980 Grammy Awards , the song was nominated for Best Female Vocal Performance - Pop and Best Female Vocal Performance - R&B . The song could be heard in the series Homicide , Sex and the City and Ugly Betty as well as in the films Heroes from the second series and in a trailer for the film The Monster-in-Law .

In a 12 "version of Hot Stuff Bad Girls was incorporated into a medley. A demo version of the song appeared on the deluxe edition of the album.
