history

The medicinal spring of Bad Reuthe (formerly also "Bad Reiti") was used intensively from the 18th century, and this medicinal bath developed into one of the most important in Vorarlberg. In 1822 Bad Reuthe was completely redesigned and the economic boom of this spa began. A son of the writer Franz Michael Felder , Hermann Felder, acquired Bad Reuthe from Franz Willam in 1896, but sold it again to Franz Xaver Feuerstein shortly afterwards. Nevertheless, he continued to work as a spa doctor in Bad Reuthe. In 1911, after the bathroom had gone bankrupt, he bought it again at short notice with a colleague, but it was sold to the Moosbrugger family within a year. Subsequently, the bathroom was sold to Oswald Kaufmann in 1924, to Peter Viertler in 1927 and to Maria Katharina Dreher in 1938. In 1959, the Dreher-Frick family expanded the spa into a modern spa facility and it was continuously expanded.

Bathing and healing spring

The acratic healing spring is a cold iron spring (so-called steel bath) with a flow rate of around 1.5 l / s and a water temperature of 12.3 ° C, similar to the steel baths in Andelsbuch and Bad Diezlings in Hörbranz . In 1871 38 domestic and 208 foreign bathers visited the bath.

The peat for the mud bath applications is extracted about 150 m from the spa. Iron-rich water is also found here.
