The bathing Nova WärmePlus GmbH & Co. KG , in short Badenova WärmePlus or heat plus (own notation: badenova heat- PLUS ), is a wholly owned subsidiary of badenova AG & Co. KG , a power company in southern Baden with headquarters in Freiburg .
history
Badenova Wärmeplus GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 2007 to cope with the challenges and expectations of the market and the legislature . Since then, Wärmeplus has been planning, building and operating heat generation plants , combined heat and power plants , heating networks, as well as photovoltaic , biogas and wind power plants in the market area between the Upper Rhine and the northern Black Forest .

The company has 91 employees and an average annual turnover (excluding subsidiaries ) of around 40 million euros (as of 2018). For individual, spatially limited heat supplies, Wärmeplus has again founded its own subsidiaries, either alone or together with local authorities and other partners. The two wholly owned subsidiaries of the company are Badenova Wind GmbH and EE Invest Vier GmbH & Co. KG . Badenova Wind is an umbrella company for the planning , development and construction of wind farms . Locations
The headquarters of Wärmeplus is located in Freiburg's industrial area north, on the Badenova site in Tullastrasse in the Brühl district . Other locations are in Ferdinand-Weiß-Straße in the Freiburg district of Stühlinger , in Titisee-Neustadt , in Lahr and in the Breisgau industrial park .
Solar
Regiosonne projects that have been implemented together with SC Freiburg , Albert Ludwigs University and a number of municipalities stand for solar . In Offenburg-Waltersweier in the Ortenau district there are 31 former ammunition bunkers in Gottswald , which Wärmeplus has equipped with 8,004 photovoltaic modules that went into operation in 2016. The largest solar project in Freiburg is the outdoor solar power plant on the former Eichelbuck landfill . It has been producing clean electricity for 1,000 households since 2011 . The 2.5 soccer field facility is a joint project by Wärmeplus and the Freiburg Waste Management and City Cleaning Service (ASF).
wind
On the Kambacher Eck , a ridge in the Middle Black Forest near Biberach at an altitude of around 500 meters, four Enercon E-115 wind turbines were installed in 2016 . At 22 million euros, this is the largest project of this type in the history of Wärmeplus. A total of twelve megawatts are installed, which corresponds to an annual electricity yield of 28 million kilowatt hours - as much as around 10,000 households consume on an annual average.
Biogas
Warmplus has biogas plants in Neuried and in the Breisgau industrial park. In Forchheim , biogas is generated by a private operator, used by Wärmeplus and then (similar to the Breisgau business park) upgraded to natural gas quality and finally fed into the natural gas network. The biomethane generated in this way is used to generate renewable electricity and heat in the company's own combined heat and power plants in Freiburg, for example in the Freiburg City Theater , in the indoor swimming pools in Freiburg, or in the Lahr-Mauerfeld combined heat and power plant .

Together with its subsidiaries, Wärmeplus generates around 300 GWh of heat, 130 GWh of electricity and 80 GWh of biogas every year. The company operates 250 systems that generate electricity and / or heat on its own; 50 of them in combined heat and power, three biogas / biomethane plants, 90 photovoltaic plants and four wind power plants.
