The bad sobernheim station is a through station at kilometer 38.44 of the Nahe Valley Railway Bingen - Saarbruecken in the south of the same city in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Infrastructure

The under monument protection standing reception building was built in the early days of the Nahe Valley Railway during the second half of the 19th century . It consists of a two-storey main building constructed as a sandstone block with eight axes, flanked by single-storey side wings with three axes. The concluding hip roofs are covered with slate.

The station was rebuilt from 2006 to 2007 and now has two 160-meter-long platforms on three tracks, elevators and an underpass. The area around the station is still to be redesigned. In 2012, the expansion of the park and ride area began. The train station on the Nahe cycle path also has a bike-and-ride space.

traffic

The station is served every hour by the Nahe Express ( Saarbrücken - Mainz - Frankfurt am Main ). Regional trains on the RB 33 line also run every hour from Mainz via Bad Kreuznach to Idar-Oberstein . Every two hours there is a direct connection with the Nahe-Express to and from Frankfurt am Main and thus also to Germany's largest commercial airport . At the train station there is a connection to the bus services of the Rhein-Nahe-Nahverkehrsverbund (RNN); In the local traffic plan of the Bad Kreuznach district, an expansion to a system node is planned.
