The Poelchaustraße station is a stop on the Berlin S-Bahn in the Marzahn district of Berlin . It is located in the south of Marzahn on the Wriezener Bahn and is bordered to the east by Märkische Allee . It is named after the adjacent Poelchaustraße .
history
The stop between the Springpfuhl and Marzahn S-Bahn stations was given the working title Springpfuhl Nord . For its construction, the long-distance and S-Bahn tracks of the Wriezener Bahn had to be moved in their position, as a second track for the S-Bahn had to be taken into account in addition to the platform. The platform could not have curvatures along its length of 160 meters, as a clearance was provided by remote monitoring systems. The platform was erected during ongoing operations, after completion the construction of the eastern S-Bahn track Springpfuhl - Marzahn began, which was put into operation on December 20, 1978. The existing S-Bahn track Marzahn - Springpfuhl and the long-distance track were relocated to their final route in April 1979. The breakpoint went into operation on September 28, 1979 under the name Karl-Maron-Straße . The platform is covered over the entire length. Access is only from the southern end of the platform. In addition to stairs, the S-Bahn station was the first in the Berlin S-Bahn network to have a ramp in the form of a spiral corridor for passengers with restricted mobility. On January 31, 1992 the name was changed to Poelchaustraße . Train handling was changed to ZAT (train handling by the driver) in 2005 .
