Berlin Mehrower Allee is a stop of the Berlin S-Bahn in the Berlin district of Marzahn . The S-Bahn station is located in the west of Marzahn on the Wriezener Bahn and is bordered to the east by Märkische Allee , from the west Wolfener Straße leads to the station. It has an exit in the middle of the platform.

history

The station was planned as Marzahn-Nord and opened as Otto-Winzer-Straße on December 15, 1980. The station supervisor at the northern end of the platform handled the trains both on site and using a remote monitoring system at the Bruno-Leuschner-Strasse S-Bahn station (today Raoul-Wallenberg-Strasse ).

The S-Bahn initially only had the out-of-town track, while the long-distance trains of the Wriezener Bahn went on the later inner-city track towards Marzahn . From February 1, 1981, the stop was the terminus for the long-distance trains coming from Werneuchen , which previously ran to Marzahn. With the extension of the S-Bahn line to Ahrensfelde , the Deutsche Reichsbahn moved the end point of the long-distance trains there and at the same time put the second track into operation.

On January 31, 1992, the name was changed to Mehrower Allee . For reasons of rationalization, the supervision has not been manned since 2005. The station does not have an elevator, only ramps for passengers with reduced mobility.

The station forecourt will be redesigned by the end of 2020. The existing sculptures by Silvia Hagen will be implemented and - framed by a new three-part pergola - will form the center of the square design. There are also suitable fixtures and fittings such as a dance bell , seating, an advertising column and bicycle parking spaces. The paths around the lawn will be paved and made barrier-free, and a row of trees will be planted towards the supermarket.

Connection

The S7 line of the S-Bahn Berlin stops at Mehrower Allee station and there is a transition to the bus lines X69 and 197 of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe .
