The Berlin Bellevue Station is located on the light rail in the Berlin district of Hansa district of Mitte district . It is served by the S-Bahn lines S3, S5, S7 and S9. The train station is near Bellevue Palace , the official residence of the German Federal President . The entire facility is listed.
location
The stop is located around four kilometers west of the historic city center and borders on Bartningallee and Flensburger Straße . The main train station is about two kilometers to the east. The next station to the west is the Tiergarten train station, around two kilometers away . Bellevue station is in the Berlin A tariff zone of the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association .
history
Construction of the building began simultaneously with the construction of the light rail in 1875; on February 7, 1882, the station was opened to traffic together with the light rail. Today, the station is one of the two urban railway stations, along with the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station , that have been preserved in their original form. The architect was Johann Eduard Jacobsthal . The length was initially 93 meters. After the S-Bahn began operating on June 11, 1928, the platform was extended to the west to 160 meters with a roof and raised from 76 to 96 centimeters. In 1931/1932 the roof structure and the bridge over today's Bartningallee were renewed.
At the end of April 1945, operations were temporarily suspended. On October 12, 1945 the S-Bahn ran again. In 1957 the visible war damage to the station was repaired. From August 13, 1961, the importance of the light rail decreased.
After the political change , the importance of the light rail increased significantly. Renovations were necessary. Therefore, the stop was temporarily closed on October 30, 1994. During this time, the S-Bahn passed the side of the hall. From November 11, 1996, the S-Bahn returned to the station. At first only the eastern entrance was open. A new train dispatcher house was also built.
Since the end of 2015, train handling has been carried out by the driver using the driver's cab monitor (ZAT-FM).
