The Neuenhagen (b Berlin) Bahnhof is a breakpoint in the town of Neuenhagen in the district Oderland , which is served by the S-Bahn line S5.

location

Neuenhagen (b Berlin) train station is on the Prussian Eastern Railway , approx. 500 m north of the town center. About 2 km to the west is the Hoppegarten (Mark) station and 4 km to the east is the Fredersdorf station . It is located in the Berlin C tariff area of the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association .

history

The station was opened on October 1, 1867. It immediately received two side platforms and a three-storey station building . The Ostbahn line was greatly expanded during World War II . In addition, two more suburban tracks were built between Mahlsdorf and Strausberg in order to achieve even higher capacities. In Neuenhagen they were finally placed on the station forecourt, where a new central platform was also built. Because the previous reception building was blocked, a simple low-rise building was built instead. However , there was initially no planned electrification for technical reasons. Towards the end of April 1945 the train service in Neuenhagen was stopped. Electrification was planned again in September. This could not be implemented again, because above all the tracks on parts of the Ostbahn were dismantled, because this was hardly any longer important, and the tracks had been much more urgent on the route to Erkner , which meant that the S-Bahn could be used on the Ostbahn- Route became very difficult. But from March 1947 the Hoppegarten (Mark) station and from September also Neuenhagen were served by electrically operated S-Bahn trains. The central platform, which was completed during the war, has only been served on the track on the south edge since then and the old building from the war was given a breakthrough to the platform.
